Anaconda All-Season Gear Swap & Recreation Expo

The annual Anaconda All-Season Gear Swap is a great place to pass along your outgrown, no-longer used gear, equipment and apparel, and to find gently used items for your whole family at great prices. This is a great way to repurpose your original investment, try a spot at an entry-level price, or put your growing kids in the next size up. Last year, for example, the cross country ski inventory was robust and most of it sold! There were some kids bikes in gerat condition that found new homes as well.

At the concurrent Recreation Expo, local recreation non-profits are available to share information about local outdoor recreation opportunities and to help raise funds for their respective missions. The list of confirmed participants is materializing, but among the invited entities span our local and state recreation-oriented non-profit organizations and public agency representatives. We'll produce a complete list in the weeks prior to the event. 

We will be accepting and facilitating the sale of clean, gently used gear and apparel of all seasons, ages and sizes. Here’s how it works:

9 a.m. – 11 a.m.: register and price products

• Bring your clean, gently used gear, equipment and/or apparel for sale to Pintler’s Portal Hostel
• Register, price and label your items with Anaconda Trail Society members

12 p.m. – 4 p.m.: Gear Swap and Recreation Expo

• Come shop, eat, drink, and chat with local recreation organizations and businesses

4 p.m. – 6 p.m.:

• Pick up cash for items sold
• Pick up unsold items

Important considerations:

• You will receive 80% of the sale price of your sold items. The rest will be split between the Anaconda Trail Society (15%) and Pintler’s Portal Hostel (5% to defray event costs), after event expenses.
• You have the option to donate your items (and their subsequent sales) in total to the Anaconda Trail Society
• Unsold items and payment not picked up by 6:00 pm will be considered a donation to the Anaconda Trail Society
• This is a CASH ONLY event
• One commercial outdoor recreation vendor will be at the Gear Swap with a large inventory of discounted goods
• The Gear Swap will be held indoors in the Hostel Lounge. The Recreation Expo component will primarily be held outside on the Hostel front patio. Outdoor heaters will be in place but still, dress accordingly.
• Food and drink will be available for purchase.

In addition to some selling, shopping, and socializing with local recreation organizations, hang out with your friends and celebrate the robust recreational opportunities Anaconda has to offer!
